Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Edge Delivery Developer (Fractional)

Aysnd is seeking an experienced Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Edge Delivery Developer to help our clients build fast, flexible, and scalable digital commerce experiences. This role combines hands-on expertise in AEM Edge Delivery Services with a strong understanding of content authoring, custom block development, and Adobe Commerce integrations.
You'll work directly with our team and clients to translate designs and business requirements into high-performing digital experiences that work just as well for content authors as they do for customers — bringing technical expertise and recommendations to the table, not simply executing what's handed you.
Title: Senior AEM Developer
Location: Remote (U.S.) - Eastern or Central Time Zone candidates preferred. This role requires regular availability during ET/CT business hours to collaborate closely with our team and clients.
Reports To: Director of Development
Time Commitment: Variable based on client and project needs. This is an ongoing contractor relationship with no guaranteed number of hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
AEM Edge Delivery Development
Build, launch, and maintain production sites using AEM Edge Delivery Services.
Develop custom blocks that are performant, reusable, maintainable, and intuitive for non-technical content authors.
Translate designs and business requirements into high-quality digital experiences with performance, accessibility, and maintainability in mind.
Support launch configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements.
Content Modeling & Authoring
Design content models that map cleanly to authoring in Document Authoring (da.live), Google Drive, or SharePoint, and Universal Editor where appropriate.
Consider the authoring experience as part of the solution, ensuring what we build is practical and intuitive for the people managing it.
Train and support content authors and create clear authoring guides for every block you ship.
Adobe Commerce Integration
Integrate AEM experiences with Adobe Commerce GraphQL, Catalog Service, Live Search, and Product Recommendations.
Extend integrations using API Mesh or Adobe App Builder when data or functionality needs to come from other systems.
Partner with back-end Commerce developers on schema changes, pricing, inventory, and other technical dependencies.
Client & Team Collaboration
Work directly with Aysnd clients as a knowledgeable and dependable technical partner.
Collaborate with Aysnd developers, designers, strategists, project managers, and client teams throughout the development process.
Communicate clearly about progress, technical decisions, dependencies, challenges, and potential roadblocks.
Bring ideas and recommendations to the table, including identifying better approaches when you see them.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional web development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on AEM experience.
Demonstrated experience building and launching production sites with AEM Edge Delivery Services.
Strong front-end development skills, including modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Hands-on experience developing custom Edge Delivery blocks and designing content models and authoring experiences.
Experience integrating AEM with Adobe Commerce and Commerce GraphQL APIs.
Experience with relevant Adobe services such as Catalog Service, Live Search, Product Recommendations, API Mesh, and/or App Builder.
Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility, responsive development, and modern development practices.
Experience working directly with clients and communicating technical concepts, challenges, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with distributed client and agency teams.
Adobe certifications related to AEM, Adobe Commerce, or other relevant Adobe Experience Cloud products are preferred, but not required.
